Physical Quantities 物理量
- A physical quantity is made up of magnitude and unit
- 物理量由大小和单位组成
Base Units 基本单位(量纲)
- The following are base units:

- All units (not above) can be broken down to base units
- Homogeneity can be used to prove equations.
- An equation is homogenous if base units on left hand side are the same as base units on right hand side.
- This may not work every time due to the fact that it does not take pure numbers into account (Ek formula)
- 所有单位(不包括以上)都可以降级为基本单位
- 可以利用单位相同来证明等式
- 如果一个等式的左边与右边的基本单位(量纲)是相同的,那么这个等式具有同质性。
- 当有纯数字参与计算时上面结论可能无效(如动能定理)

- Scalar: has magnitude only, cannot be –ve e.g. speed, energy, power, work, mass, distance
- 标量:只有大小。如速度,能量,功率,功,质量,路程
- Vector: has magnitude and direction, can be –ve e.g. displacement, acceleration, force, velocity, momentum, weight
- 矢量:具有大小和方向,可以-ve(Positvie +ve, negative -ve)。如:位移,加速度,力,速度,动量,重量
